Game Rules for Kids Games

Trump

Shuffle the deck and deal out the cards equally amongst the players. Each player holds his cards so that the other players cannot see them. The first player looks at his first card, choose a category and calls out the value of that category on the card. The other players check the value for the same category on their first card and the highest value wins the hand. The top card of the players that have lost this round are placed at the bottom of the winners hand along with the winning cards. If the values are the same, draw out the next card in the hand an call the same category. The game continues until one player has won all the cards.

Happy Families

The object of the game is to collect as many families (groups of 4 cards that belong together) as possible. Deal out all the cards so that every player gets an equal number of cards. The dealer starts by asking another player for a card needed to complete a family. If the other player has the card he must give it to you. You may continue asking for cards until you make a mistake. When a mistake is made the player who was asked for his card takes his turn to request cards. That player can retake the cards taken in the previous round. When a player gathers a family he must put the 4 cards face down on the table in front of him. The player who collects the most sets is the winner.

Black Peter

This card game consists of pairs (a pair = 2 cards of the same family) and one "Donkey Card". After shuffling, deal the cards in a clockwise direction to all players (it doesn‟t matter if one player has one card more or less than another). Everyone looks at their cards and places all their pairs of cards in the middle of the table. When all the players have thrown away all their pairs, the player to the left of the dealer arranges all their remaining cards in their hand like a fan. The back of the cards is shown (without showing the face) to the player on the left. That player then chooses one card and if it makes a pair then both cards are discarded in the middle of the table. If the player isn‟t able to make a pair, then they must keep the card and continue the game by offering their cards to the next player, always working clockwise. When a player has lost all of his cards they are „saved‟ and stop playing. At the end of the game the player who still has the "Donkey Card" has lost. They lose the game; all the other players win.
